# KB-25: Inviting participants

**Invite participants personally via email, message or phone and provide them with the event details and code.**

Invitations are most effective when they come from someone the guest knows. Use the sample email and message templates in MyJOG as a starting point; personalise them with your own story and explain why you're hosting a JOG.

If you are running an online JOG, include the event date, time, location (or Zoom link) and the event code for surveys. Emphasise that the experience is free and that there will be no fundraising pressure. Encourage invitees to ask questions and to arrive on time so the conversation can begin together.

If your group is small, consider inviting a few extra people to account for cancellations. For large groups, assign someone to manage RSVPs. Remind participants to complete the post-event survey using the event code; this helps GP improve the experience. Sending a reminder the day before the event can increase attendance.

*📍 Use the Invitation templates in [MyJOG](https://my.generositypath.org/) or create your own message.*
