How to facilitate the Generosity Plan
The Generosity Plan is one of the most significant moments in the JOG experience. It is a prayerful personal document — not a binding contract — through which participants begin to discern how God may be calling them to steward their resources. It typically covers areas such as regular giving to a local church, contributions to ministries and causes they care about, and one-time gifts for specific needs.
How to prepare
- Familiarise yourself with the Generosity Plan document before the event. Find it on your event page in the MyJOG Portal or in the MyJOG > Event Guides folder on your USB stick.
- Decide whether to provide printed copies or ask participants to access it digitally.
- Review Appendix F of the JOG Hosting Manual for detailed facilitation guidance.
How to facilitate the session
- Introduce the Generosity Plan warmly, framing it as a personal act of prayer and discernment — not a pledge or a commitment to GP.
- Give participants adequate quiet time to work through the plan individually, with soft background music if helpful.
- Remain available to answer practical questions about the document, but do not offer financial, legal, or pastoral direction.
- Remind participants that GP does not provide legal or tax advice and that decisions about where and how much to give are entirely personal and private.
- For JOG Plus and JOG Lite: after participants complete their plans, invite them to regroup around shared passions and causes as a bridge into the Giving Collaboration discussion.
