Facilitator videos or facilitator notes — which to choose?
Both facilitation styles deliver the full JOG experience. The choice depends on your experience level, your group, and how much flexibility you want.
Facilitator Videos
Pre-recorded presenters guide participants through each session — introducing the journey, providing teaching, provoking reflection with questions, and wrapping up. Choose this style when:
- You are hosting for the first time and want a ready-to-go, structured experience.
- Your group is quiet or less talkative, and a video voice helps maintain momentum.
- You want consistency across multiple locations or teams.
- You prefer to focus your energy on engaging participants rather than managing content flow.
Facilitator Notes
Simple on-screen text prompts — key questions, transitions, and instructions — allow you to lead the conversation personally. Choose this style when:
- You are an experienced host comfortable leading discussions and reading the group's energy.
- You want to personalise content — connecting it to local stories, cultural nuances, or your group's specific context.
- Your group is highly engaged and responds well to open dialogue.
- You want the flexibility to adjust pacing based on participants' reactions.
You select your facilitation style when registering your event on the MyJOG Portal.
