KB-14: Accessibility and special needs considerations

Make reasonable accommodations for participants with disabilities by adapting materials, seating and communication methods.

Generosity Path welcomes participants of all abilities. When hosting a JOG, consider the needs of those with disabilities or special circumstances. For in-person events, ensure wheelchair access, provide seating with back support and make restrooms accessible. Offer large-print or braille materials for visually impaired participants and ensure that videos have captions or sign-language interpretation.

For online events, provide transcripts and enable closed captions. If a participant has hearing difficulties, consider using a microphone or assistive listening devices. Encourage hosts and participants to communicate any accommodation needs in advance so adjustments can be made.

Be sensitive when discussing topics that may touch on disability or economic hardship. If you are unsure how to accommodate someone's needs, ask them privately or consult local disability organisations. By making your JOG inclusive, you reflect God's welcome for all and allow every person to participate fully.

📍 Review our Accessibility checklist and consult with your regional coordinator about additional accommodations.
